I am a self taught photographer who grew up in Arlington, Virginia during the 1950’s and 60’s. I have been interested in nature and photography since an early age but it was relatively late in life that the decision to combine the two came about.

About 25 years ago, I realized that the world that I had known as a child was rapidly being replaced by one of concrete, metal, smog filled skies and polluted water. My interest in shooting people quickly evolved to an interest in shooting nature and to this day, I am thankful that this happened.

I am into my 60’s now and have grown to appreciate the small things that too many of us fail to notice. Photography has taught me that slowing down to “smell the roses” is the best part of this journey that we call life and this website is my way of sharing with you, some of the “roses” that I have stopped to smell during my journey.
